The City of Groveland has announced a new partnership with New Beginnings aimed at expanding access to affordable homeownership for Groveland residents and workers. This innovative initiative is designed to support working-class individuals and families by offering quality starter homes at attainable prices.

What makes this program unique is its focus on serving the Groveland community directly. Only individuals who live or work within the city are eligible to purchase these homes, ensuring that local first responders, school employees, service workers, and other essential members of the workforce have the opportunity to put down roots where they serve.

The homes are priced starting at $221,900, with a minimum down payment requirement of just $7,000, making homeownership more accessible than ever for qualifying buyers.

To preserve long-term affordability, a Community Land Trust (CLT) has been established. This structure ensures that homes are owner-occupied and remain affordable not only for initial buyers but also for future purchasers. The CLT model helps protect the community from rising housing costs while promoting sustainable homeownership.

New Beginnings, an organization with nearly 20 years of experience developing affordable rental housing, is expanding its mission to include affordable homes for sale. The organization is excited to take this next step in helping families achieve the dream of homeownership.

Currently, three homes are available for purchase, with additional small starter homes already in the planning stages.
